In the spring of 2019, Severance Hall reached out to CIA’s illustration department to commission art pieces for advertising and outreach. SH asked for the pieces to convey a friendly and inviting image to draw in more families and younger patrons. After touring the hall, I decided to recreate some of the many patterns and motifs the historic building boasts to layer along with spring-time colors, whimsical line art, and depictions of the structure and musical instruments.
